The Class

This class combines our Yin practice with some Yoga Nidra practice. Yin Yoga is the slower complement to the Yang (active) yoga styles. This yoga targets the connective tissues of the body - tendons, ligaments, fascia, and even the bones themselves - by holding postures for a longer duration than one would deem 'comfortable'. Due to these longer holds (usually 2-5 minutes), you will probably do no more than a handful of postures in the average class. A great practice for cultivating stillness, while also improving circulation and hydration to our more often neglected areas of the body. The practice of Yoga Nidra is a meditative, conscious relaxation practice intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. During Yoga Nidra, we move into the state of consciousness found in between sleep and wakefulness. From that point, we plant our deepest heartfelt desires (sankalpa’s) while our brain waves are in a deep, healing state. This practice is for everybody, and you can’t practice yoga nidra incorrectly. Bring your most comfortable clothes, blanket, eye pillow, crystals, intentions, journal, etc…
