Having recently immigrated from Zimbabwe, the practise of yoga asana landed on Claire’s radar screen in 2005, when it was gaining popularity and spreading quickly across Canada.
Yoga was a natural transition from her background in ballet, requiring the same attention to alignment, personal discipline and love of movement. Yoga also had the added benefit of nur-turing and healing the body and calming the mind.
A desire to share these benefits with others led to Hawaii in 2007 to Bikram Yoga teacher training.
The yoga journey has continued with owning a studio in Ottawa for 5 years, Vinyasa teacher training with Marlon McGann, a beloved teacher in Los Angeles and Aspen, Colorado, and a Restorative Yoga training at Passage Studio in Calgary.
Claire’s ongoing love for yoga has seen her travel often to Los Angeles, the yoga centre of the Universe. She has had the privilege of taking class with world-renowned teachers such as Bryan Kest of Power Yoga Santa Monica and Vinnie Marino at YogaWorks, Venice Beach.
She teaches 26&2, Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative classes at Harvest.
